Green light to hike out
Good news — I had my follow up visit with another great NP, and he confirmed that the blister infections are responding to the antibiotics, and that I’m good to hike out.
YAY! The trail can be 10 types of difficult, but I’d started to really miss it.
Epsom salt foot baths have been helpful too.
The NP cleaned up the dead skin on the blister I couldn’t reach, and sent me off with lots of gauze pads and bandaids. He also prescribed me a second dose of Bactrim in case I get another skin infection on the trail. How thoughtful — guy really knew his hikers.
I’ll be packing up and heading out this afternoon, with my next stop in 4-5 days at the Best Western and Taco Del Mar at Cajon Pass on Hwy 15. Thanks for all your good thoughts and kind words.
