  1. I’m totally living vicariously through you – I LOVED the planning stages for the JMT! Just curious, what did you get for your new shelter? I noticed you didn’t say tent… is it something fancy?

Did you ever try the Platinum Performance bars that I had on the trail? The nutrition in them is as good as any, they’re all organic/gmo free/blah blah blah, and they taste pretty good. The company is cool, too! LMK if you want more info on them. +1 to the tuna in oil, loved that stuff. Tasty enough to not have to carry condiment packages.

Ahhh, I am so excited for you! I don’t think I would be able to hang for four months (I was starting to get antsy at the end of the JMT!) but I am super stoked to read about your time on the trail. Keep the updates coming!

I have such a love-hate relationship with planning. I love the research part, but procrastinate like a pro when it comes to making actual decisions.

I got a poncho tarp to use with a bivy sack. Neither has arrived yet, giving me plenty of time to second guess the choice! I want to be sleeping out as much as weather permits, so I wanted the simplest shelter I could find.

I didn’t try those bars — thanks for the recommendation! I’ll pick some up and give them a try. Do you remember where you got them?
